She died in the night, around 1 or 2 in the morning. My father had checked on her and she was hot, and unresponsive. He gave her medication for pain and went to bed, and then next time he woke up, she was dead.
He sounded good. Shaky, and weepy, but good. Today the mortician will come and she will be cremated, but he said for now she looks like she's at peace.
I'm shaking but I don't really know why. I cried when he described the day; cold, clear. He opened all the doors and windows to let the weather in, and read me part of her diary, in which she said she didn't mind dying, somehow. That it was all right.
My love to you, Jo. And your family.

I send my love and support to all of you. It was nice to hear Art said she looked at peace, an end to her struggles at last. There is very little any of us can do, but your friends are here for you. I would like to come to the memorial service, let me know when it is. I love you.
