If you live in San Mateo or Santa Clara county, including San Carlos, Redwood City, Atherton, Portola Valley, Woodside, Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, the Almaden Valley of San Jose, or Stanford University, you have no doubt seen the wall to wall advertising for Steve Poizner (R) for State Assembly 21st district. I encourage you to vote against him and for his opponent, Ira Ruskin (D). The seat is being vacated by Joe Simitian, a Democrat, because the district lines have been redrawn.Ira is a noble public servant who has been representing the people of the peninsula since 1995 as mayor of Redwood City. He is a true environmentalist, supporter of women's rights around the world, and strong on housing and education. He is good for business, especially those businesses that act as good neighbors.
Poizner has been given an inordinate amount of money to fund a saturation ad campaign that tries to gloss the fact that he is a Republican. The money probably came from the national GOP as part of their national effort to put Republicans in all levels of office. Poizner has no record of public service, supports business interests above all else, and is running ads and sending mailings that do not actually state any positions.
Don't let the GOP carpet bag our district. Vote Ruskin
Have you seen the redistricting lines in Texas? Our rep now represents Austin all the way to the valley. Yeah, that makes lots of sense. People and their stupid games.

What i never understand is what the stupid republicans want to DO with all the power once they get it. Why do they want to be in government, if they only want to strangle it? They're crazy. Insane. Scary.
