Writer's conference! So great! But incredibly tiring. I woke up at my usual 5 a.m. and showed up at the conference hotel at 7:30. Got to meet a lot of people and listen to talks about selling and crafting and writing and enthusiastic embrace of creativity. But then after a sit-down lunch and an amazing talk by Lisa S ee, I wanted to curl up in the corner and go to sleep. Exhausted. My knee throbbing in pain. I walked out and got in a cab and now I'm home. I'll go back tomorrow.
I think one of the main take-aways I got from the conference was that I need to prepare proposals more carefully. And now I have instructions. And I need to get behind one of my projects and see it through to the finish. Really commit to something. It's so hard, because they're all my babies, all the work I do.
Yes! This conference sounds great...
