I didn't take my meds last night by mistake and WHAM at 1:30 I was fully awake, aquiver. Just goes to show you. I was able to get back to sleep after I took the pills, though. It was fine. And now this morning I'm groggy and blind, groping around the kitchen to make some coffee and try to get the cobwebs to dissipate.
Today the kids are going with Manny, and I'm going to drive up to Marin to see C. He's had some big news and I'll try to help him process it.
I was hoping to take Information Secrecy but it looks like I need to take the Public Library class instead, if I'm going to switch to the public library speciality from my former academic library specialization. I probably need to take a youth or child class, too. Though I have little interest in children's library services. Maybe I'll just skip it and figure I'll be working in the adult section.
Shall I exercise, or count on playing tennis with C.? Hmm. Both would be better, eh?
Unsolicited advice alert: If you don't absolutely hate children's services, and you're really focusing on public libraries now, it might be worth it to take a class. Makes you much more marketable even if you're going for adult services jobs--many smaller libraries (around here, anyway) have just one desk for children and adults, and even those that don't would count it a plus if you could pinch-hit in children's dept and/or doing a story time if needed. Also, at the libraries I know of, children's materials are among the few areas where circ hasn't been decreasing over the past several years.
But if doing children's services makes you totally gag and you have no intention of ever running a storytime in your life, then might as well skip it.

I guess I wouldn't mind doing it, so maybe I should take a class. It would make me have more options anyway. Storytime might be fun.
