Our cat started retaliatory peeing and he kept upping the ante. Finally to our bedspread. The last straw was waking up in the middle of the night because he was peeing on my leg!!!
The vet prescribed clomipramine. I didn't want to but we didn't have a choice--I had no one to give him to and I didn't want to put him to sleep.
It started during a very stressful time for our family--my mother was ill with dementia & my daughter's husband was dying. I lived @60 miles away so I was away a lot.
He adjusted to his meds pretty quickly and is his normal self--just ratcheted down a bit.

I tried all the recommended sprays and they did nothing. Once it starts, it's hard to stop. Good luck.
