Gloom, Despite Spring
Oh, and now in the mail a rejection letter from yet another literary journal. It's a really bad day.

Jo--
I've sent out a lot of submissions, and I don't deal with rejection very well at all.
The way I've been able to manage it is to get a submission together and then have a plan for where I send it after the rejection.
So for example, I think "I'm going to send to the smoking word review, and then then reject me, I'll send to the wormwood review" So anytime I send something out, I figure out the next place to send it.
I don't know if this will help. I was getting derailed by any rejection and I did want to get work out there.
Also, at this point I mostly send to journals that accept email submissions.
I'm sorry about the rejection letter. Some people wallpaper the walls with them, but that isn't me.

Yes, I recycle them and send them back to the paper they came from.
