Happy Birthday To Me

I thought I'd use post number 5456 to tell you this:

It's my 40th birthday today!

On a Monday! In July! And don't you know it, it's also Harry Potter's birthday. And Doc Alphabet's birthday. He's turning 56. And my father-in-law, who is turning some kind of 60+.

I woke up this morning having had a terrible dream that Manny and I were dividing up the furniture (heartache and pain) but now it's the light of day and I'm happier. Ms Jane is coming over today and we're going for a long walk. Shall we do Crystaal Springs? Or go over to Wonderlick?

I don't normally like my birthday at all. And it's not that I'm growing older, that's not what bothers me. I think it's because I'm hyper-aware all day of the Place I'm In. Where has my life gone? Why?

And you must know by now that I'm sort of like that on a normal day, which makes my birthday that much worse. Of course, I'll try to steer it toward "Gee, look how much better off I am than I was two months ago." Which is true. I'm not as crazy as then.

I'm still rationing the Ativan, however. It's a harsh world. I'm going to try to make it on two today rather than my normal three.

HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY, JO SPANGLEMONKEY!!!

Happy # 40!!!
Take it from me (at age 61) turning 40 is fantastic!!! They say that's when life begins--it certainly did for me--& it only gets better.
Take care and have a happy day!!

Happy Birthday, Jo! Welcome to the Club!

Remember, turning 40 comes with certain privileges and rights. For instance:

30 year olds are now young punks, up to no good. Don't turn your back on them.

And kids! Curse them! Always riding their bikes on the lawn! Chase them off! Shake a fist at them! You've now earned the right!

happy birthday! you've arrived! it's all over, that bad stuff, you've made it! surprise! all that angst, all the wtf? it's all in the past, this is the hump you were swmming towards, you're in port now. (it's a well-kept secret:)

What they're all saying--life gets better after 40? That's really true; you can just deal with things better. Maturity, I think it's called.
Happy, b'day from Chuck and me, too! Give Ms Jane a kiss for me,please.

Happy birthday! I have no sage advice about how great it is to be 40.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A new decade means you can toss out old fears from all previous decades.

(They do tend to drop back in unannounced, though, dammit.)

I agree completely with Selena.

(especially the part about kissing Ms. Jane)

Oh yeah, life DEFINITELY is better after forty. I wouldn't go backwards for anything.

And check your email.

Happy Birthday, Beloved Commander of the Robot Army. I salute you with an even straighter spine in honor of 40 years of yer fahn self.

Always your soldier, fan and friend...full of love for you.

Grace
