Time Flies Like a Banana

There is nothing we like more in my family than a good reality show. No, I take that back, we also like Star Trek Next Gen episodes, even when we've seen them a thousand times already. But we were all atwitter and blissed out tonight when the new Survivor started. Yay! Sure, you can call it mainstream and a waste of valuable time we could be spending in our garage lab curing cancer and making a better mousetrap, but I'm telling you, we all bond. This time we sweetened the pot by gambling. Who would be voted out? We split, two and two, and when Jolanda got the boot Sophie and I ended up two bucks down. Though Sophie was asleep by then.

It's raining and raining and raining. Water. It's water. Water water water.

New cat names in the offing: Harriet. Argon. Angie. Feeling guilty because we will be ripping Barbara Jean Cat from her friend cat, whom she's known for 8 months. But we can't take TWO of them. Besides, Friend Cat seemed to be a bit teched, if you know what I mean. Spent the entire visit glaring at us out of her little yurt and sucking on her paws. Sucking. Loudly. Slobberingly. Hmm.

I wouldn't want to have to think of this many cat names right now!... [Read More]

I have a cat name suggestion, although it may not be politically correct in today's cat circles (and you have yourself a nice cat circle started there at Casa Spanglemonkey, which I believe translates loosely into something like House of Cats or Manny can be talked into anything, one or the other. I forget which.)

Here's my suggestion. What about Barncat? Now, hold on. I know it doesn't sound appropriate, but once we named one of our cats Barncat, he grew into quite a strong, independent little fluff. He's well-behaved around the ladies, and knows how to handle himself around toms. He's very loving, and after eleven years outside in the elements, is still easy on the eyes.

I'm almost positive all of his good fortune stems from his name. From what he tells me, he hasn't even used up a single one of his nine lives yet.

I was actually thinking of Argon, as Eliz. and I were discussing the wondrous beauties of the periodic table earlier today.

Here's a vote for Harriet. Don't ask me why, since I don't know. It just sounds right for a long-haired, tiny cat.

If you're looking for more suggestions...Hallie? It's what we were thinking of naming the next cat after Shy Kitty dies, except now it looks like MG is allergic so all our cat names will go to waste.

Or Harriet! It has everything. Literary allusions, etc. and if she's a long-haired cat, it's a pun!

I vote for Harriet! Although by no stretch of the imagination is that cat a tiny cat! Just put her next to Cookie Puss!

This site is really, really weird.
